Over 45 years ago, in recognition of the need for people in crisis to have access to empathetic human contact any time day or night, Response Crisis Center was born. From these seeds of compassion grew a professional, nationally accredited organization, serving thousands of people each year through our 24 hour counseling services, support line services, online crisis counseling services and community education and training programs.
The crisis intervention/suicide prevention hotline is open every day of the year, day and night, including holidays. Professionally trained and supervised volunteer counselors offer callers telephone support and help them to explore options that can lead to thinking through next steps. This counseling helps callers lower their anxiety and find their own solutions. Crisis counselors also provide referrals for support groups, clinicians, mental health clinics, other hotlines and a host of other community programs and services.
Our crisis intervention/referral hotline is open every day of the year, day and night, including holidays. Our professionally trained and supervised volunteers offer callers telephone support and help them to explore options that can lead to thinking through next steps.
Callers can talk privately with a Response counselor about any subject and receive the same compassion, referrals, and advocacy that they would find on our hotline. Our counselors are not therapists, but they are professionally trained and supervised, and will talk with you about any concern you have.
